Shoulder Anatomy Model — AR/VR Ready 3D Asset

This high-fidelity 3D digital shoulder model was created for a palpation guided injection trainer. Modeled to match a pre-existing physical trainer CAD geometry, it is built as a fully AR/VR ready asset designed to support medical education through progressive anatomical exploration.

The model features 6 discrete anatomical layers, allowing users to scroll through the layers from skin to skeleton:

  1. Skin

  2. Semi-transparent skin with underlying anatomy visible

  3. Superficial musculature — deltoid with bones, bursae and joints beneath

  4. Deep musculature — deltoid removed, revealing bones, bursae and joints

  5. Bones, bursae and joints

  6. Bones only

The removal of the deltoid between layers 3 and 4 is a key educational feature, and helping users understanding what lies hidden beneath the superficial musculature — an intrinsic part of the knowledge needed to preform these procedures.

The model also includes 6 interchangeable skin variants representing a diverse range of patients: 3 light-skinned and 3 dark-skinned, encompassing 2 female, 2 male, and 2 post-mastectomy/chest masculinization surgery presentations. Notably, this is the first model of its kind from this product line to include representation for people affected by breast cancer and transgender patients — a meaningful step forward in inclusive medical simulation.

As a real-time 3D asset optimized for AR and VR platforms, it is suitable for integration into interactive simulation environments, digital training tools, and immersive medical education applications.
